⚠️ Safety Notice: The "Committee Decision"

Parents and prospective members should be aware that the Committee of Exeter Hockey Club recently voted to allow a player convicted of Section 20 Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) to return to the club following community service

We have asked for formal reasoning in writing behind their decision but have yet to receive anything

The Facts:

• The Incident: Unprovoked attack initiated when offender "stepped face to face" and "attempted to grapple" victim to the floor. Result: Broken jaw, 2 plates, 12 screws.
• Police Evidence: CCTV confirms offender "threw 3 punches" and "kicked the victim" whilst the victim made "no attempt to fight back."
• Club Response: Despite a Section 20 GBH conviction (Guilty Plea), the Committee refused to enforce a ban only an unenforced suspension.

We believe amateur sport should be safe for everyone. A conviction for serious violence should mean a forfeiture of the privilege to play.
